BloomJobBot

The crawler behind CareerBloom's job imports.

What it fetches

BloomJobBot retrieves public job postings only, from original sources — company career sites and public applicant-tracking-system job boards (which exist to redistribute postings). It never fetches job-aggregator sites, never fetches pages behind a login, and never solves CAPTCHAs. If a page is blocked, the bot stops and records it.

How to identify it

Every request is sent with this User-Agent:

BloomJobBot/1.0 (+https://mycareerbloom.com/bot; jobs@mycareerbloom.com)

How it behaves

  • robots.txt is respected for crawling.
  • Rate-limited to at most 1 request every 2 seconds per domain, and no more than 200 pages per site per day.
  • Personal data (recruiter names, emails, phone numbers) is stripped from any stored description.
  • Every imported job shows its provenance — “Imported from {domain}” — and the Apply button links out to the original source.

The quality bar

A job is imported only if its full description can be read directly from the original source URL — 1,500+ characters, complete, with a real requirements section. Partial or truncated postings are never imported, and descriptions are never accepted as pasted text. If we can't read the page, we'd rather say so honestly than carry a stale listing we can't verify.

Request removal or claim your listings

If your company's jobs were imported and you'd like to remove or claim them, verify a work email at your domain on the manage listings page. You can also email jobs@mycareerbloom.com.
