Most little concrete pipes dream of growing up to be stormwater pipes. Not Pip. Pip became an electrician. While her friends were busy moving water around New Zealand, she was chasing faults, solving breakdowns and making sure the machines that build the pipes kept running. Now Pip is looking for a teammate.
At Hynds, our maintenance team doesn't just fix things when they break. They're problem solvers, troubleshooters, innovators and improvement champions. They're the people who look at a machine and think: "there has to be a better way."
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
Why you'll enjoy this role
• Every day brings a different challenge, from fault finding and preventative maintenance to equipment upgrades and process improvements. • Work with a supportive team that values safety, development, innovation and continuous improvement. • Join a proudly New Zealand business helping build the infrastructure that keeps communities connected. What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of industrial plant and equipment, responding to breakdowns, carrying out preventative maintenance, supporting shutdowns and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
You'll use both your electrical and mechanical skills to diagnose issues, minimise downtime and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
What we're looking for
You're a qualified tradesperson who enjoys solving problems and taking ownership.
Ideally you'll bring:
• Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience • Electrical registration (EWRB) and strong mechanical aptitude • Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting skills • A proactive approach to continuous improvement • The ability to remain calm when others are staring at a machine wondering why it's making that noise.
Why Hynds?
Because people matter. Because safety matters. Because doing things properly matters.
At Hynds you'll join a team that values innovation, teamwork, accountability and helping each other succeed. You'll be part of a business that invests in its people and recognises the difference great tradespeople make every day.
