Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric) – Perm & Contract opportunity

Tō tūranga hou | Your new role This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help shape and build a modern enterprise data platform powered by Microsoft Fabric. You'll play a key role in designing scalable data solutions, establishing robust data foundations, and enabling business users to access trusted insights through self-service analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in greenfield or early-stage data platform environments, where the focus has been on data ingestion, orchestration, governance, reliability, and establishing long-term architectural patterns. Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern cloud-based technologies.
Build and optimise data solutions supporting analytics, reporting, and advanced data workloads.
Develop both batch and real-time data integration processes.
Apply best-practice data modelling techniques to support enterprise reporting and analytics requirements.
Implement and maintain data governance, lineage, metadata, and quality frameworks.
Support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives and data synchronisation processes.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technology teams to deliver scalable and reusable data solutions.
Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience working with cloud-based data platforms, ideally within Microsoft Azure environments.
Strong SQL and data transformation experience.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and semantic models.
Experience building and supporting real-time or CDC-based data integration solutions.
Strong understanding of modern data modelling approaches, including Data Vault methodologies.
Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and platforms.
Experience with Python, Spark, or similar data processing technologies.
Contract opportunity – 12-month contract & Permanent opportunity Location: Te Puke (3 days work from office) Interested candidates must be based in Taurage or willing to relocate
