Mō te tūranga | About the role We’re kicking off Fulton Hogan’s first-ever wind farm project in a couple of weeks, and we’re looking for a proven Project Engineer to help get this Amberley-based project out of the ground and running smoothly. You’ll join ahead of main site works to help plan, coordinate and set the project up for success, then play a key role on site as construction ramps up. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You’ll need to back yourself, think clearly when plans shift, and make good calls when it counts. While the wind farm project is an exciting starting point, it is only one part of the wider opportunity. We’re especially keen to hear from people with strong heavy civil structures experience, particularly around bridges and reinforced concrete, as this will be a bigger focus for future work. Experience in water infrastructure would also be highly valued. If you have not worked in that space yet, this role will give you exposure as that pipeline grows. There’s also plenty of variety in where the work can take you. With projects coming up in Picton, Wānaka and Timaru, we’re looking for someone who is flexible on location and open to travel outside the wider Christchurch area. If you enjoy different sites, different challenges, and the chance to build experience across a strong South Island pipeline, this role will keep things interesting. We’re after someone already operating confidently at Project Engineer level. Wind farm experience is a bonus, but it’s not the main thing. We’re much more interested in someone with strong logistics management capability and hands-on experience across heavy civil structures rather than vertical builds. Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities Lead day-to-day engineering delivery on site, with a strong focus on planning, sequencing and keeping work moving. Own logistics management across key activities, including large concrete pours and other critical-path works. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to deliver safe, quality outcomes on programme. Mentor early-career engineers and support the wider team by sharing knowledge, building capability and setting clear expectations. Stay adaptable on site, respond quickly to change, and make sound decisions when challenges pop up.
