Department: Stop Smoking Service
Location: Hounslow - West London
Remote Status: In Person
The Opportunity:
You'll join Morelife's Smoking Cessation service in Hounslow, part of a borough-wide Integrated Health & Wellbeing Alliance working to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes for the people who need it most. As a Smoking Cessation Advisor, you'll be the main point of contact for clients throughout their quit journey, delivering one-to-one support, while also supporting a network of community advisors across GP surgeries, pharmacies, schools and workplaces.
This is a role with real breadth and ownership: you'll run your own caseload and clinics and see your impact directly in the borough's quit rates. You'll be backed by Morelife's evidence-based approach and a wider Alliance of partners all working toward the same goal: healthier lives for Hounslow residents.
What you’ll do:
• Deliver one-to-one stop smoking support face to face, helping clients achieve 4-week quits
• Manage a caseload of clients, providing tailored pharmacology, follow-up and relapse support through to 12 weeks
• Own your data: track quit rates and CO-validation, using tools as needed to monitor performance
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, driving continuous improvement across the borough's stop smoking provision
• Build and grow relationships with community providers and workplaces to expand referrals and service reach
• Take part in local outreach events, acting as a visible Smoking Cessation Champion for Hounslow residents
• Lead workplace smoking cessation initiatives, supporting smoke-free policy adoption across the borough
• Represent Morelife at tobacco control network meetings and contribute to ongoing service development
Who you are:
• Qualified: hold a full NCSCT Stop Smoking Practitioner Certificate, with expert knowledge of tobacco cessation and harm reduction
• Experienced: a track record delivering specialist stop smoking services and hitting quit-rate targets
• Data-driven: confident using quit-rate and CO-validation data to monitor performance and target resources where they're needed most
• Relationship builder: comfortable negotiating with GP surgeries, pharmacies, schools and workplaces to grow provision
• Genuinely passionate about helping people quit smoking and committed to public health principles
• Proactive and self-motivated: takes initiative and works flexibly, including evenings and weekends when the service needs it
• Strong communicator: confident presenting and adapting your style for audiences from GPs to community groups
