Make every campaign measurable: holdout-audited incremental NGR per campaign, CTR by channel and game, deliverability, and unsub/opt-out guardrails. Enforce messaging hygiene — one notification per campaign per player, mutually exclusive segments, contextual interstitial triggers, and segment→campaign attribution so no segment is orphaned. Design reactivation and win-back offers within the incentive rules: above-30% bonuses reserved for genuine reactivation, framed as rare and limited. Manage the Email Marketing Manager and build the lifecycle bench. Partner with Analytics for holdout design and reads, Game LiveOps for surface slates, Launch GTM for feature adoption campaigns, and Product (Rishabh) for messaging machinery and PN observability. Report weekly: what was sent, what it earned, what is being retired, and what needs unblocking. Key Competencies Incrementality-first thinking — instinctively asks what the control group did; treats sends, opens and pMAU as inputs rather than results. Lifecycle craft — journey design, triggers, frequency capping, suppression logic and deliverability, across push, email and in-app together rather than channel by channel. Offer economics — understands that a reactivated user arriving on bonus cash can be NGR -negative, and can defend a step-down against a stakeholder whose reactivation number it depresses. Hands-on tooling — configures journeys and segments themselves; can pull their own data in SQL or a BI tool. Player respect — treats notification volume as a finite asset and argues for fewer, better sends. Builds from zero — the function, the DL, the runbook and the measurement all need creating; comfortable with that rather than expecting an established machine. Experience 6–10 years in lifecycle / CRM / retention marketing for a consumer mobile product, including direct ownership of a reactivation or win-back programme . Deep hands-on experience with a lifecycle platform — CleverTap strongly preferred ; Braze, MoEngage, Iterable or WebEngage acceptable — including journey building, segmentation and frequency management. Ran holdout-based incrementality measurement on messaging campaigns and can evidence a campaign they killed on the number. Real-money gaming industry experience required. Owned push notification deliverability and opt-in economics, including double-dialogue opt-in patterns and the constraints of iOS re-enablement. Comfortable partnering with Product on instrumentation gaps and with Analytics on independent scoring; experience taking over tooling ownership from another function is a plus. Senior Software Engineer - Product Data Gateway
HQI 82
Hybrid - Bangalore, India5h ago
About the Role At Abnormal AI, we are on a thrilling mission to safeguard the world's largest enterprises against a vast range of relentless email and collaboration application cyber security attacks. Our relentless pursuit involves crafting an exceptional suite of products that empowers customers to seamlessly visualize, expertly control, and fearlessly combat cyber-security threats. The Multi-Product Platform (MPP) organization owns the product platform that enables scalable product development, helping the business build and launch enterprise-grade products with a consistent customer experience. This is a chance to build the data backbone that every Abnormal product depends on. As a Senior Software Engineer on MPP and founding engineer of the team, you'll create the standardised data layer that becomes our single source of truth — the one governed path through which any system, agent, or interface can reach data from across every product, from a single record to cross-product aggregates, online or offline, in whatever shape it needs. A hard, high-leverage problem: serve the whole platform at high throughput and low latency without becoming the bottleneck, while enforcing tenant isolation, auth, and fine-grained access control so every team gets security and reliability for free — built AI-native from day one. You won't be maintaining someone else's system — you'll be defining the foundation every product is built on, where getting it right compounds across the whole company. If you're energized by 0→1 platform work, driving cross-team standards, and owning a system end-to-end, this role is built for you. What You'll Do Technical Delivery & Operational Excellence • Design, build, and iterate on the APIs and services that make up the standardized data access layer. • Drive adoption of API-gated data sources, so product teams expose their data once and every consuming surface can reuse it, instead of building one-off integrations. • Design and implement standard labeling for data ownership, and build the validation logic that checks incoming requests against it. • Own reliability, latency, and operational excellence for a high-throughput, low-latency system on the critical request path. • Make the early architectural calls and codify them in technical design docs the team aligns on. • Establish the team's engineering practices — testing, code/design review, on-call, and CI guardrails — and the patterns future hires inherit. Teamwork & Collaboration • Communicate effectively in an asynchronous manner with team members to provide updates, discuss challenges, and propose solutions. • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to align on how they'll adopt the shared data layer. • Take ownership of projects and act as a driver who adds instant adrenaline and drives positive impact when placed on projects and teams. • Mentor engineers as the team grows, and influence roadmap and long-term planning • Actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and participate in professional development activities. Must Have Skills • • Experienced Sr Software Engineer with 7+ years of industry experience and strong software engineering fundamentals. • • Futuristic, with the ability to look at the bigger picture and anticipate growing system needs. • • Growth-oriented, looking to increase impact, responsibility, and ownership over time. • • Proven ability to own and drive complex systems end-to-end, with strong knowledge of team-owned services and the ability to collaborate and influence cross-team goals and roadmaps. • • Strong experience writing production Python and Golang code and working with SQL and NoSQL databases. • • Solid experience in system design and building resilient, scalable applications with an emphasis on operational excellence. • • Detail-driven and cares about code quality, testing, and performance. • • Ability to make practical trade-offs and propose technical solutions, including writing technical design documents and leading their adoption. • • Strong understanding of service health, monitoring, fault tolerance, and incident response practices. • • Strong communication skills and proven ability to work autonomously and asynchronously with remote collaborators and stakeholders. • • Strong communication and mentorship skills to influence team-wide engineering practices. Nice to Have Skills • Experience designing or building data access layers, APIs, or platforms that other engineering teams build on top of. • Experience treating an internal platform as a product — building for other engineering teams as your customers. • Familiarity with ChatGPT, Cursor, and other GenAI productivity tools. • Experience with big data platforms and technologies #LI-AB2 A note on AI in our process: Abnormal AI uses AI-assisted tools to help our recruiting team prepare for candidate interviews. These tools analyze resume content and role requirements to suggest interview questions and areas for the interviewer to explore. They do not make hiring decisions or screen candidates automatically. Every decision about a candidacy is made by a person. Further, if your application is successful and Abnormal AI makes a conditional offer of employment, we will carry out pre-employment checks which must be successfully completed to progress to a final offer. All processes and pre-employment checks are in line with prevailing legislation and Abnormal AI's policies relevant to our security and privacy standards.
